Below are essential documents that the importer of record must fill out applicable to the commodity that is being imported.

Certificate of Origin

The Certificate of Origin is a document attesting to the imported product's originating status. It is required for customs clearance procedures to determine duties. 

Lacey Act Declaration

The Importer of Record must sign the Lacey Act Declaration which proves the legality of the plants and plant product being imported.

NAFTA Document

The NAFTA Certificate of Origin is used by the United States, Canada and Mexico to determine if imported goods are eligible to receive reduced or eliminated duty as specified by the North American Free Trade Agreement.
